Flora Elizabeth Redford was born April 13, 1947, in Johnson City, Tennessee, to the late Mary Elizabeth (Sawyers) and Harry Donald Young. Flora met the love of her life, Graham St. Clair Redford, in the summer of 1963 in Wytheville, Virginia. After a brief courtship, they were married, raised their children, and shared 58 wonderful years together before his transition in April 2021. Also preceding her death are her siblings, Donald "Skip" Young, Helen Young, and Warren Copney.

Flora was an active member of West Market Street United Methodist Church, serving in various capacities until her health no longer permitted. She was employed at Leon Ferenbach as a textile worker for 48 years. After retirement, she enjoyed taking bus trips to various casinos with her husband and friends. She also enjoyed time with her grandkids and great-grandkids.

Flora was known for her sassy sense of humor, which was often very entertaining (and sometimes prickly). She was the family way-maker, original Uber, daycare center, secret-keeper, and she had a way to make her family feel rich in love via her countless sacrifices – always going above and beyond to be there for her loved ones in any capacity.

To cherish her memory, Flora leaves: her children, David Redford, Malaika (Tim) Perry, and Mekasha Redford, all of Johnson City, TN; her bonus children, Joyce Ann (Jeff) Keeling, of Roanoke, VA, and Earl (Dana) Carter of Arlington, VA; her siblings, Harry Young of Harrisburg, PA, and Jane (James) Turner and Winifred "Wincy" Copney of Johnson City, TN; her grandchildren, Cedric Harris, Ameila Redford, Zachary Redford, Jasmine Redford, Lia Perry, Coryn Perry, Myecka (Amanda) Lane, Aysha Redford, and Keimel Redford – all of Johnson City, TN – and Sultina Perry of Nashville, TN; great-grandchildren, Dereon Alexander, Dre-den Redford-Rowe, Jayshon Redford, Caden Redford, Camilla Redford, Enzo Redford, and Lexi Harris – all of Johnson City, TN – and, Dhvani Bond of Nashville, TN. Flora also leaves a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, close friends, her summertime son, Tayvain Warren, and bonus daughters, aka the "Flossy Posse."

The family would like to offer special thanks to dear family friend Gordon Simpson and to the outstanding staff of Tennessee Cancer Specialists. They became like family during their amazing care throughout Flora's valiant battle with lung cancer. Special thanks to the many friends and family for all your acts of kindness, love, visits, calls, food, and other good deeds. Please keep us in your prayers.

Funeral services for Mrs. Flora Elizabeth Redford will be conducted at 11:30 am on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at the Chapel of Love at Birchette Mortuary and Cremation Service. The family will receive friends from 10:30 am until the hour of service. Graveside services and interment will follow at Washington County Memory Gardens in Johnson City, TN.
