Joyce Marie Newton Harding was a true inspiration to many. She loved Jesus dearly and dedicated her life to serving him. She loved knitting and gardening despite her disabilities. She knitted caps for children suffering from cancer, even while she herself was battling cancer. She gave everything she had and never complained. There are so many who loved Marie and served her but she gave us much more than we could ever give her. We are thankful that in heaven Marie is walking and running with Jesus! Jesus sustained Marie her entire life and she never felt like she was any less of a person than anyone else. Jesus was the reason. We are thankful to have known Marie and for the impact she had on all who met her and we all look forward to seeing her again when we join her in heaven.

Marie was preceded in death by husband, Richard Harding; father, Fermon Aldon Newton; mother, Devonal Estelle Russ Newton.

Survived by one sister, Vella Ree Green; four brothers: Baron Newton, Dexter Newton, Larry Newton, Malcom Newton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 22, 2022 at Usrey Funeral Home - Pell City. Interment will follow at St. Clair Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers Marie requested that donations be made to Samaritans Purse Ministries, Operation Christmas Child. Donations can be made through Lakewood Presbyterian Church, 4970 Stemley Bridge Rd. Pell City AL, 35128.
