AMBURGEY, Alpha A. Age 85, of New Lebanon, OH, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, January 16, 2008 at Harborside Nursing Center in New Lebanon. Born May 4, 1922 in Jackson, KY to the late Frank & Nannie (Burton) Adams. She retired from the Inland Manufacturing Division of General Motors. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband Elmer Amburgey in 1975: brothers James and Charley Adams: sisters Georgia Holbrook, Ruby King, Evelyn Holbrook and Opal Greer. Survived by daughter & son-in-law Karen & Jim Grimmett of Dayton: grandchildren Todd Penney, Melissa Robinson and Kelly Wegley: great grandchildren Stephanie, Jamie, Tyler, Keagen, Cole, Andrew, Colleen and Daniel: great great grandchildren Kylie, Braeden and Aubrey: sister Stella Short of Sebring, FL: a host of nieces and nephews: special friend Audra Bowman of West Alexandria. Funeral services will be held 5:00 PM, Sunday January 20 , 2008 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria. Friends may call on the family from 3:00 - 5:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in memory of Mrs. Amburgey be made to your favorite charity.
