Buck grew up in Hydro, and later moved to Lawton, Oklahoma, where he finished high school. Just after high school in 1958, he joined the United States Air Force. After completing basic training, he served as a Morse Intercept Operator in Airforce Security service and served a tour of duty in Pakistan.
After his honorable discharge from the Air Force, he began a career at Lear Sigler and soon became an Information Technology manager, providing payroll and other solutions to worldwide government and military entities. He ended his career working for the Oklahoma City Tax Commission.
Buck accepted Christ as his Savior at a young age and became a lifelong student of the Bible. He served the Lord by teaching in various churches throughout his lifetime, and he particularly enjoyed teaching young married couples, positively impacting the lives of many people. He was a faithful member of Southgate Baptist Church in Moore, Oklahoma. He and the love of his life, Donna, loved to travel all over the world, and the couple shared a passion for diving.
Last but not least, Buck adored his family. Not only did he want to stay up-to-date on all his children and grandchildren, he made it a point to check in with all of his extended family and his host of friends. Buck was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and dear friend to many. He will be truly missed.
He is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Alsup, his mother, Stella Irene Gifford, two brothers, Maynard and Steve Alsup, and a son-in-law, Clifford Brent Hall.
