A Christian, she read through the Bible at least three times and studied and underlined many scriptures. Lois was a member of the Meridian United Presbyterian Church for over 70 years, where she had been an Elder, Deacon and a Sunday school teacher. She was proud to be one of the first women of her church to become an Elder.
Surviving are her daughter, Lynette K. (Clifford) Beattie; two sons, Larry E. (Patricia) Young and Lenny V. Young; eight grandchildren, Todd (Meg), Tara, Brad, Scott (Stephanie), Jason, Laura, Allison (Jason) and Lindsay; 15 great grandchildren, Jake (Hannah), Audrey, Marlo, Nelson, Trevor, Olivia, Cooper, Kara, Joshua (Kerri), Justin (Kelsey), Travis, Ava, Will, Corryn and Teagen; four great great-grandchildren, Nellie, Jack, Hadleigh and Easton; her sisters, Edith Johnston and Phyllis Bonzo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence V. Young, who passed away in May 1989; a granddaughter, Tracy Lynn Young; her son-in law, Wilbur R. Crago; two sisters, Shirley Nulph and Darlene Beahm; her brother, Robert Bowser as well as many nieces and nephews.
YOUNG - A celebration of life memorial service for Lois Kathleen Young, who died Friday, July 15, 2022, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022, at Meridian Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Stephen Franklin officiating. Private burial at Butler County Memorial Park.
