He was the youngest of 12 children born to John Thomas Bell and Mary Elva Cantrell. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He married the former Glyn Marie Hayes on 12/22/1943, in Kingsville, TX. He was co-founder and a member of Bell Family Gospel Singers, recording and performing for many years. He was survived by his wife, a son, two daughters, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and an extended family of relatives and friends.
