Mrs. Dorothy Whiteman Johnson, age 91,lifelong resident of Iowa, died Sunday at her home 1207 7th Avenue, after a prolonged illness.
Mrs. Johnson was born May 20, 1848 near New Hartford, Iowa, the daughter of pioneer residents., Lucinda (Farnham) and David Ackerson. She resided at Shenandoah, Iowa before coming to Council Bluffs forty years ago. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Charles(Minnie) Halterman, of Waterloo, Iowa; a son Francis Whiteman of New Hartford, Iowa; 3 brothers Ed Ackerson of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Charles Ackerson of Shell Rock, Iowa and Horace Ackerson of Crystal Lake, Minnesota; seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
The body was taken to the Woodring funeral home. Services were Monday afternoon, with burial in Walnut Hill cemetery. Copied from newspaper on microfilm at Council Bluffs, Iowa.
