Obituary
James Blaine Runkles, prominent resident of Dickerson, died Sunday afternoon at Frederick Memorial Hospital, at the age of 77 years. Born in Mt. Airy, he was the son of the late Basil and Ellen Runkles. At the time of his death, Mr. Runkles owned and operated a number of farms in upper Montgomery County. He was also a director in the Farmer's Banking and Trust Co., Poolesville. At one time, he was extensively engaged in the lumber business.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Marian Thompson Runkles, two brothers, George Runkles, Mt. Airy, and Burns Runkles, of Laytonsville, survive. Also a number of nieces and nephews survive.
Friends may call at the Hilton funeral home in Barnesville where services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. by Rev. Raymus Hilliard, pastor of Poolesville Methodist church. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery, this city.
