Son of William T and Cleo Mitchell Edmondson. He was born in the Rest Community. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the crushed stone industry in 1993. He was a member of Fayetteville Lodge #711 for over 65 years, the Fayette Shrine Club, and Fayetteville First United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Billy Edmondson; and six sisters, Julia Burch, Mattie Jeff Robertson, Lucy Owen, Catherine Hardwick, Charlotte Griggs, and Betty Josephine Bowen. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Bernice Edmondson; daughters, Jill (Mike) Kirkland and Julie (Kevin) Till; and grandchildren, Austin and Katie Kirkland.
