Charles Ray Anderson, 74, of Claudville Hwy., Claudville, died Monday January 21, 2008.
He was born December 18, 1934 in Patrick County and was a son of Emma Iowa Boles Anderson of Mount Airy, N.C., and the late James Leake Anderson. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Louis Anderson Sr. and Lowell Anderson.
He was retired from Wood Brothers Racing, was a past master of Renfro Masonic Lodge 691 AF and AM and was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Shirley Smith Anderson of the home; two daughters, Karen Anderson Morris of Stuart and Cheryl Ann Anderson Tatum of Winston-Salem, N.C.; four grandchildren; and a special niece and nephew.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Moody Funeral Home chapel in Mount Airy by the Rev. Harry Sherrill. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight (Wednesday) from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hatchers Chapel United Methodist Church, c/o Iris Cole, Claudville, Va. 24076.
