In addition to her parents, Shirley was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Bobby Ray Monroe, Sr. in 1992, and one sister, Brenda Flood.
Through the years, Shirley worked in the school system and managed Family Dollar stores, but her greatest achievement in life was being a loving mother and grandmother.
Those left to cherish her memory are her six children; sixteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Her brother and sister further survive her.
The family will receive friends Saturday, July 16, 2022 from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 AM in the Northcrest Chapel of the funeral home, with burial to follow at Chestnut Hill Cemetery.
