Aurora Ortiz Mejia, 89, passed away peacefully at her residence on July 6, 2022.
She was one of the kindest and purest souls out there. Her laughter, smile, and kindness will be missed dearly by her family. She loved going to church, gardening, cooking, sewing, reading the Bible, singing and listening to Christian music. She was a part of the Iglesia Bautista Emmanuel congregation for decades and had lots of love for her spiritual hermanos and hermanas. She always trusted in the Lord and had lots of faith.
She was born in Santa Maria, Texas, to her parents Daniel and Dolores Ortiz. She married Antonio Mejia, Sr., and is now reunited with him in the beautiful gardens of heaven. She is preceded in death by her husband Antonio Mejia, Sr., son Armando Mejia, parents, suegros, brothers and sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews. Survivors include daughters Ida Mejia, Yolanda M. Reyna (Manuel), sons Antonio Mejia, Jr., and Rolando Mejia (Deanne), grandchildren Yvonne (Alfonso Gutierrez), Cindy Reyna, and Eric Reyna (Blanca), great grandchildren Serena, Amber, Eric Jr., Elijah, and Jordan.
Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers. A very special thank you to her caregivers that she loved very much, Mary and Linda.
