Clyde was born in Montour Falls, NY the son of the late, Russel Emmett and Francis Egbert Pelham Depew. Clyde served in the US Marine Corp during WWII and worked at Taylor Winery in Hammondsport, NY. He was a member of the American Legion and the Hammondsport Moose Lodge.
He is survived by his daughters, Mari Lane (Tom) Wheeler of Prattsburgh and Barbara (Jim) Welch of Little Rock, AK; grandchildren, Samantha (Ryan Kidder) Wheeler, Krystal Wheeler, Zachary (Christy Whiting) Wheeler, Logan Wheeler all of Prattsburgh, and Tara Ashley of Little Rock, AK; great grandchildren, Jonathan Margeson, Travis Kidder, Dylan Wheeler, Blake Shutter all of Prattsburgh, Adriana and Alex Schultz of Little Rock, AK; his sisters, Aniah and Mary and his twin brother, Claude, and Gene; several nieces and nephews including special nieces and nephews, Rhonda (Scott) Baube, Rex (Donna) Depew, and Randy Depew. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Edith Bates Depew in 1993; twin sons, Stanley and Stephen; his step father, Grandpa Bill "Bill Gardner"; his siblings, Paul, Gail, Doris, Bill, Ernest Neil, and Fredrick; and his nephew, Ricky Depew.
Friends and family may call from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm on Wednesday, October 24th, 2012 at the Bottoni-Wood Funeral Home, 4 Mechanic St., Prattsburgh. His funeral service will follow at 1:30pm at the funeral home with the Rev. Don Peek officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Grove Cemetery in Bath.
