HOWELLS RITES TO BE HELD SATURDAY

Funeral services for Miss Aurelia H. Howells, sister of the late William D. Howells, prominent author, and daughter of William Cooper Howells, deceased former Ohio editor and at one time United States consul at Quebec and Toronto, Canada, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Benbough chapel. Rev. Howard Dunham will officiate. Cremation will follow. Miss Howells, a resident of San Diego since 1923, died Tuesday night at her home, 519 West Laurel Street. She had been in failing health for several weeks. During the World war Miss Howells distinguished herself by her active work in the Red Cross among the prisoners and civilian refugees in Switzerland, where she was living. A native of Ohio, Miss Howells was 89 years old. She is survived by the following brothers and sisters; Achille Frechette of San Diego, John Mead Howells and Miss Mildred Howells, both of New York; W. D. Howells and Mrs. Albert Perliz, both of Youngstown, O., and J.A. Howells of Ocean Beach; Mrs. Florence Schley and Mrs. C. Tonon, both of Washington, D. C.; Howells Frechette of Ottawa, Canada; Miss M. M. Frechette of San Diego.
