Jessie Grace Harper died in a Wenatchee hospital on February 16 following a long illness. She was born in Broken Bow, Nebraska in 1886. In 1889 she came to First Creek with her parents and they homesteaded in a community called Wrightville. Later they moved to Chelan. She was a member of the Chelan Christian Church.
Survivors include four brothers: Ralph Wright of Chelan, and Harvey, George, and Cecil; four sisters; Daisy Weaver of Stehekin, Addie Brumbaugh of Oroville, Irene Cave of East Wenatchee, and Mary Wilhelm of Twisp, seven daughters: Georgie Tingwall, Grace Graves and Edna Martin from Chelan; Elsie Bigelow and Norma Harper of Seattle, Edith Moredon of Spokane and Bernice Ritter of Maryhill; three sons; Willis Erwin of Oroville, Harold Erwin of Oroville, and Spencer Erwin of Brewster; and 30 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, (today) from the Rose Chapel of the Smith Funeral Home at 2:00 pm. The Rev. Helseth officiated. Mrs. Norman Evans was soloist accompanied by Mrs. Dorothy Reed.
Burial was in the Riverview Cemetery. Smith Funeral Home of Chelan was in charge of arrangements.
