Funeral services for Ralph P. "Bud" DeDecker, 95, of Silvis, IL, will be 11:30 am Tuesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, IL. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 9:30-11:30am Tuesday at the funeral home.


Mr. DeDecker passed away Wednesday July 6, 2022, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.


Bud was born April 5, 1927, in Atkinson, IL, the son of Edmund and Elizabeth (Van Vooren) DeDecker. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He married Elsie Vyncke. He retired from John Deere Harvester East Moline, after 33 years of service. Bud was Die Hard Chicago Cubs Fan and an avid gardener.


Survivors include his daughter, Pamela (James) Curless, Silvis; grandchildren, Kim Curless and Doug (Amanda) Curless; great grandchildren, Ashton, Sloane, Aubrey, and Lily; step children, Karen Fry, East Moline, and Sherry (Gary) Kelley, Silvis; 6 step grandchildren; sisters, Janet Vyneman, Atkinson and Ruth Cambron, Kewanee, IL: several nieces and nephews – all his favorites.


He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson Craig Curless; siblings, Ione (Clarence) Hicks, and Jane (Bill) Hamer; and brother-in-law, Rich Vyneman.

Memorials may be made to the family.
