Mrs. Mary Schwalm Grube, 89, a former resident of 1823 N. 7th St., died early today at Rocky Knoll Sanitorium and Hospital after an illness of four years. A well-known practical nurse in this area, Mrs. Grube was born in Germany on Nov. 4, 1872, and came to this country at the age of 13. She lived in St. Cloud for a few years before moving to Sheboygan. In 1894 she was married to Charles Schwalm who preceded her in death. Her marriage to August Grube took place on Feb. 4, 1919. He died in November, 1923. Mrs. Grube was a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, the Mother Church in Boston, and Elm Rebekah Lodge 109. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Edward (Viola) Haas of Sheboygan; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Catherine Remus of Sheboygan. Seven brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Nickel's Funeral Home. Edwin Mahnke, reader of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, will officiate with burial in Wildwood Cemetery.
