News of the sudden death of Harold Fort in the Lake Chelan hospital Monday came as a shock to the entire valley.
He was born in Hamilton, Missouri, June 29, 1893 and spent his early life in that area. He served in the US Army Medical Corps during World War I.
In 1920 he was married to Opal M. Davis in Missouri and the family came to Manson where they have operated on orchard for many years.
Mr. Fort is survived by his wife, Ms. Opal Fort, at the home; five daughters, Mrs. Leo England, and Mrs. Arnold Koenig, both of Manson; Mrs. Kenneth Hisel, Moscow, Idaho; Mrs. Curtis Cockburn, Frankfort, New York; and Mrs. Paul Killian, Pullman; one brother, Russell Fort, Hamilton, Missouri; five sisters, Miss Mabel Fort, Kansas City; Mrs. A. E. Malotte and Mrs. Alton Arms, both of Hamilton, Missouri; Mrs. Paul Burkett, Cameron, Missouri and Mrs. Raymond Hartley, Kingston, Missouri, and 17 grandchildren.
Services are today.
