Gary Allan Simmons, age 78, of Clintonville, passed away July 4, 2022 at The Pines in Clintonville.

Gary was born on December 3, 1943 in White Lake, WI to the late Alvin and Florence (Buettner) Simmons.

Gary was a graduate of Cedarburg High School.

On February 2, 1968, he was united in marriage to Patricia Strommen. She preceded him in death on January 15, 2021.

Gary was a commercial and residential carpenter.

Gary and Pat resided in Cedarburg, West Bend, White Lake, and Stevens Point for many years. Most recently, Gary lived in Clintonville to be near family.

Gary and Patricia were very active in their faith. They were founding members of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Plover. Most recently, Gary was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville and a past member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Kellner. He was active with supporting the Orphan Grain Train, Westfield, WI as well as the Concordia Lutheran Seminary in St. Louis.

Survivors include his three children: LeAnne (Bryan) Theilman of Farmington, CT, Gary (Kristy) Simmons of Herington, KS, and Robert (Barb) Simmons of Wisconsin Rapids, 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, sisters: Gail Krisler of Jackson, WI, Leila Paul of Cedarburg, a brother Grant (Betty) Simmons of LaCrosse, WI, sisters-in-law: Connie (John) Lambert of Clintonville, Corinne (Jeff) Hoffman of Clintonville, Cheryl Buist of Shawano, Vickie Strommen of Shawano, brothers-in-law: James Strommen of Vassar, MI and Jeff (Laurie) Strommen of Saukeville, WI.

In addition to his wife and parents, Gary was preceded in death by his sisters: Nola Krueger and Elsie Shank, brothers: Roland Simmons, Hilbert Simmons and Harlan Simmons, a brother-in-law Kerry Strommen, and a nephew Matthew Strommen.

A funeral service will be held on July 15, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville with Pastor Jason Zobel officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the service at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.

Interment will be in Langlade Cemetery on Friday, July 15, 2022 at 2:30 PM.

Memorials in Gary's name may be directed to Concordia Lutheran Seminary in St. Louis or Orphan Grain Train, Westfield, WI.
