YORK Jason L. Jones, 88, died Wednesday, January 23, 2008, at Manor Care Kingston Court. He was the husband of Rena M. (Dehart) Jones, his wife of 59 and a half years. Born July 31, 1919, in Knoxville, Tenn., he was the son of the late Tollie Napoleon and Julia (Adkins) Jones. After graduating from the University of Tennessee in 1948, he was a teacher and then a hydraulic engineer for Union Carbide, AMF, and most recently, York Industries. He was an Army veteran of World War II, where he became a POW in North Africa. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart and was awarded six bronze combat stars. Mr. Jones was a member of the American Legion Post 799, Pleasureville, the Hawks Gunning Club, and was a 50 year Mason. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed fishing in Virginia. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Robert A. and his wife, Debra Jones of York; daughter, Sabrey and her husband, Jim Dennes of Windsor; three grandchildren, Carly Jones, and Chad and Jill Dennes, all of York; brother, Ernesrt K. Jones of Madisonville, Tenn.; sister, Mossie Taylor of Clinton, Tenn.; brother, T.N. Jones of Clinton, Tenn.; brother, Rhea Jones of Knoxville, Tenn.; and a very close niece, Vivian Maginnis and her husband, Charles of Kingston, Tenn. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery with graveside military rites conducted by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
