Judith "Judy" A. Weir, 84, of Noblesville, passed away at home on Friday, July 1, 2022. She was born October 12, 1937, in Indianapolis, to Gerald and Ella (Barricklow) Porter.

Judy started school in a one-room schoolhouse, Buntin School, in Boone County, at age five. In her early years, she was very active in 4-H and showing cattle at the fair. Later in life, her family moved to Kokomo, and she attended Northwestern High School, graduating in 1955. After high school, her first job was as a secretary at Public Service Light Company.

On September 8, 1956, she married Kenneth E. Weir, in Kokomo, and they later moved to Center and became the parents of two beautiful daughters, Ann Weir, of Noblesville, and Melinda Weir, of Kokomo. Judy went on to work at UPI and Continental Steel in administrative and clerical positions before retiring. Judy and Kenny lived a wonderful life into their senior years, in the old red brick farmhouse outside of Greentown. She was a member of the DAR.

In addition to her daughters, Ann and Melinda, survivors include two grandchildren, Jennifer (Kyle) Murphy and Tyler Nelson; great-grandson, Orion Patrick Murphy; brother, Jake (Pam) Porter; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, on March 24, 2015, and her parents.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at Greenlawn Cemetery in Greentown, with Pastor Keith Kunda officiating. Contributions may be made in Judy's memory to the Howard County Historical Society. Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Shirley & Stout Funeral Homes, in Kokomo.
