Daily Press 19 Mar 2009 – Hampton – Early Hancel Freeman Sr., 79, a native of Cleveland County, NC, and a resident of Hampton since 1956, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2009. He retired in 1995 as a self-employed floor mechanic. He loved bluegrass and country music, and especially Martin guitars.
He leave behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 59 years, Lena Elizabeth Freeman; sons, Bud Freeman and wife, Kay, and Terry Freeman; daughters, Brenda Shonyo and husband, Gary, and Tanya Freeman; grandchildren, Steve Freeman, Daniel Quinn, Jeremy Quinn, Wendy Moore, and Amy Moore; great-grandchildren, Dylan Freeman, Kyle Freeman, Connor Quinn, Logan Quinn, Stephanie Freeman, and Caleb Quinn; brothers, Dave Freeman, and Bob Freeman and wife, Barbara; special niece, Elaine Hartley and husband, Jim; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Tim Miante.
Friends are invited to visit from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Friday, March 20, at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, where a celebration of life service will follow at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Parklawn Memorial Park. Arrangement are under the care of Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, Hampton, VA.
