Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 8, 2022, at Salem Lutheran Church with Pastor George Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
Mrs. Allen was born January 16, 1924, in Lincoln County, to the late Nelson Cleo Ingle and Carrie Smith Ingle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Lewis Allen; son, David Wayne Allen; and two great-grandchildren, Anna Brooks and Gracie Allen. She worked for Homespun Hosiery and was proud to be a fifth generational grandmother.
She is survived by a son, Robert Allen (Rickie) of Lincolnton; daughters, Martha Cook of Bessemer City, Barbara Allen of the home, and Millie Moore (Kenny) of Maiden; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
