Last rites for Drusilli Caswell, 78, who died at her home Friday after a long illness, were held Sunday at the Methodist church...Interment was in the Riverview cemetery. Harriet Drusilla Johnson was born in Marion County, Missouri, November 22, 1865, where she spent her early life. She was married to Walter N. Caswell at Quincy, Illinois, in May 1885. They moved to Kansas where they lived for three years, going from there to Nebraska and then to North Dakota. Later they returned to Missouri and came to Wilbur in 1890. In the year of 1897, the family came to Chelan in a covered wagon, establishing a homestead here. They operated a general store in Chelan for 23 years. Upon coming to Chelan, Mrs. Caswell organized a Sunday school at the Falls View school at the present town of Manson. She was member of the Baptist church, Ladies aid, Women's Relief Corps; and Sunshine society. Surviving, besides her husband, are: three daughters, Ora Kimball of Portland; Bertha Ogden of San Diego; and Susan Ogden of Chelan; one son, Ernest Caswell of Chelan; three sisters, Annie Bandy of Fresno, California; Maggie Johnson of Wilbur and Florence Stratton of Decatur, Illinois; two brothers, Thomas of Illinois, and John of Missouri; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
