SAMUEL FINDLEY MOORE was born on 28 December 1862 in Red River County, Texas to Russell Latimer Moore & Jennie Baker-Moore.

Samuel first married Virginia "Jennie" Bryarly Walker on 11 June 1885 in Mt Vernon, Franklin County, Texas, and they had FIVE children of record:

Ruth Lee Moore-Lindsey (1885 - 1980),
Joseph Russell Moore (1888 - 1916),
Samuel Ross "Jack" Moore (1891 - 1962),
John Milton Moore (1894 - 1933), and
Kathryn May Moore-Dickson (1898 - 1984).

After Jennie passed away, Samuel married Jennie's first cousin, Lucy Kate Bryarly, on 12 June 1919 in Paris, Lamar County, Texas, and there was no issue by this marriage.

Samuel passed away on 13 December 1931 in Sulphur Springs, Hopkins County, Texas, and he was laid to rest there at the Sulphur Springs City Cemetery.

Father of Woman Resident Is Dead

SULPHUR SPRINGS, 13 Dec Sam F Moore, 69, prominent North-east Texas citizen, died here this afternoon.

Born and reared in Red River County, Moore moved to San Angelo in 1907, where he engaged in business. He came here about 15 years ago. Survivors are his wife, the former Miss Lucy Bryarly of Sulphur Springs; four children by his first wife, Sam R Moore of San Angelo; J Milton Moore, Christoval, Texas; Mrs CC Dixon, Ft Worth, and Mrs J W Lindsey, Sulphur Springs, and a brother, Robert Moore, of Kansas.

For many years Moore was a member of the board of Stewards of the Methodist Church in San Angelo and Sulphur Springs.

Pastors expected to attend and officiate at funeral services are Rev M L Hamilton, Greenville; Rev George C French and Rev G A Lehnhoff, both of Dallas, and Rev Minor Bounds, Sulphur Springs.
