WELLSVILLE - James B. Dinch, 86, of Wellsville, died Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at the Vista Center in Lisbon.

He was born October 29, 1927, in Washington, PA, the son of the late Paul and Esther (Favier) Dinch. Jim was also preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters.

Jim served in the United States Army during World War II. He retired as a slitter operator for the former Crucible Steel Mill. Jim was a member of Yellow Creek Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Jean (Campbell) Dinch, whom he married December 23, 1947; one daughter: Sharon "Sharry" Dinch of Atlanta, GA; one son: Jay Dinch and his wife, Diane, of Wellsville; and one sister: Dorothy Heiney of Tulsa, OK. Also surviving are one granddaughter: Jessica Dinch; and one grandson: Seth Dinch.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, September 26, 2014, at the Yellow Creek Presbyterian Church, 17365 State Route 45, Wellsville, with Pastor Bob Offerdahl of the church officiating. Full military honors will be accorded by the Tri-State Burial Group.

Friends may call from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Jim's name to Crossroads Hospice of Northeast Ohio, 3743 Boettler Oak Drive Suite E, Uniontown, OH 44685.
