She graduated from Georgetown High School class of 1949. Gloria worked as a phlebotomist for St. Edwards Hospital in New Albany, IN. She was a member of South Liberty Church of Christ in Pekin, IN. Gloria married Lowell Smith on March 14, 1950. She enjoyed high school sports, travelling, and tending to her flowers. Gloria loved spending time with her friends, family, and beloved grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Steven Smith; one brother Joseph Pezzullo; and one sister Doris Frederick.
Gloria is survived by her three children, Ron (Lola) Smith, Tami Duvall, Joi Martin; one daughter-in-law, Margaret Smith; ten grandchildren, Mathew (Amanda) Smith, Mike Smith, Candy Smith, Sean (Amy) Smith, Sunnye (Josh) Wilson, Jannson (Marnie) Engleman, Katelyn (Joshua) Turner, Allison Engleman, Rebecca (Jared) Methena, Kyle Martin; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one brother, Barry Pezzullo, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday July 7, 2022 at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, IN. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the same day.
