Earl Carson, 84,
of the Paint Rock Community, passed away early Friday morning, October 30, 1992 at the LaFollette Medical Center. Born on September 22, 1908 in the Paint Rock Community, he was the son of the late Harrison Carson and the late Annie Coffey Carson. He was also preceded in death by two daughters: Audra and Shirley Jean Carson; one son, Harold Gene Carson; three sisters and three brothers. He was a member of Second Street Church of God in Oneida. Survivors include his wife, Ruby S. Carson of the Paint Rock Community; three sons: Rocky Carson and Allen Carson, both of the Paint Rock Community; and Robert Lee Carson of Clinton; three daughters: Della Griffith of the High Point Community; Linda Blankenship of the Grave Hill Community; and Joan West of Oakdale; 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; three sisters: Dorothy Ward of Caryville, Ellie Beard of High Point, N.C.; and Christine Overbay of Clinton; and one brother, Delis Carson of Caryville. Several nieces, nephews and many other relatives survive also. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 1 from the West-Murley Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Landon Sexton officiating. The Buttram Jubilees sang. Burial followed in the Peaceful Rose Gardens Cemetery in the Paint Rock Community. Serving as pallbearers were Tony Younce, Eddie Younce, Jerry Griffith, Ira Webb, Phillip Carson and Cody Carson. West-Murley Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
