Born January 21, 1946, at Wolford, Virginia, he was the son of the late Giles Bandy and Betty Sparks Bandy. He was a strip mine heavy equipment operator retiring after 31 years. He was also a former lineman for Nichols Construction.
Latney enjoyed the outdoors and hunting. He liked spending time sitting on the porch of his old home place watching the deer and other animals.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Jerry, J.E., Ray, and Tom; sisters, Juanita, Marie, and Althea.

Funeral services for Latney Roscoe Bandy will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2022, 1:00 P.M. at the Virginia Funeral Home Chapel, Grundy, Virginia with Charlie Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Bandy Family Cemetery, Coon Branch Road, Wolford, Virginia.
The family will receive friends Friday evening, 6:00 P.M. at the Virginia Funeral Home Chapel. A service will be held at 7:00 P.M.
Serving as pallbearers will be Austin Vance, Michael Roten, Josh Lee, Jason Davis, Michael Ashby, and Josh Ashby.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be family and friends.
