Violet Ione Wilkinson, 79, of Walnut Grove and formerly of Lodi, died Wednesday morning in a local hospital following a short illness. She was born in Kansas and moved with her parents to Salt Lake City, Utah at the age of four years. In 1915 they moved to Oregon and she came to California in 1934. She first lived in Sacramento, and later in the Bay Area where she was employed as an executive secretary for the Factory Insurance Companies Pacific Coast San Francisco office. She and her husband moved to Lodi in 1953, and then to Walnut Grove in 1968. She was a past member of the Eastern Star and was very active in the Nutrition Program in Walnut Grove.
She is survived by her sister, Mrs. R. Lee Couch of San Francisco and one nephew. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clair Wilkinson, who died Sept 8, 1973.
