Ruby Anna Crites Simmons, 88, of Petersburg, W.Va., died Monday, Jan. 21, 2008, at her home.
Mrs. Simmons was born Oct. 29, 1919, in Durgon, W.Va., and was the daughter of the late Sam Crites and Minnie Jenkins Crites. She was raised by her aunt and uncle, Jeff and Molly Crites.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Petersburg and the Petersburg Chapter 146 Order of the Eastern Star.
Her husband, W. Jettie Simmons, preceded her in death June 23, 2006.
Survivors include two sons, D. Vaughn Simmons of Harrisonburg, and Pastor David W. Simmons of Burlington, W.Va.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was the last survivor of her immediate family.
Pastors Larry M. Cantu and David W. Simmons will conduct the funeral 11 a.m. Thursday at Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg, W.Va. Burial will be at South Branch Valley Memorial Gardens in Petersburg.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
