Born near Atkins, Arkansas to William James and Hattie Mae(Sorrells)Alewine. James was Salutatorian of Russellville Class of 1944.
U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a retired United States Postal Worker and attened New Dimensions Class of the 1st Assembly of God Church in Russellville, Arkansas.
James is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Dean (Mullins)Alewine of the home; two daughters, Judy Jay of Ozark, Arkansas; Cherly L. King of Russellville, Arkansas; four sisters: Imogene Smith of Stuttgart, Arkansas; Vera Aycock of Dardanelle, Arkansas; Julie Price and Jane Howard of Russellville, Arkansas; and three grand children: Clay, Sarah and Daniel.
Active Pallbearers were: John Johnson, James King, Clay Johnson, Kevin Smoke, Mike Price, and Jim Smith.
Honorary Pallbearers were: Larry and Bill Aycock, Scott Smith, John Price, Mike Lacefield, Vernon Howard and past and present employees of the Russellville Post Office.
