Charlotte Louise Folk, 86, of Frostburg passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at UPMC Western Maryland.
Born on June 17, 1936 the late Lulu F. and John V. Richardson. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel J. Folk Jr.; daughter, Nancy Fern Folk; brother, Frank Richardson; and sister, Ella Fern Richardson.
Charlotte was 1954 graduate of Beall High School where she participated in many sports, sang in the choir and was typist for her yearbook staff.
Right out of high school she was employed by Frostburg National Bank in their bookkeeping department and advanced to the audit department. The bank was sold to First National Bank where she was senior teller and retired in 1998 from Farmers and Merchant Bank.
She was a life member of the Frostburg United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for a period of time; Charter member of the Frostburg United Methodist Church Woman's Society of Christian Service; member of the Women's Society Martha Circle and life member of the Baltimore Conference of the United Methodist Historical Society.
She belonged to many organizations including, Hill Street Museum Volunteer; Maryland State Forest and Park Service volunteer, Life member of Maryland Ornithological Society; Allegany and Garrett Counties Bird Club; caretaker of the Carey Run Sanctuary in Garrett County for many years and a member of Daughters of the American Revolution for 50+ years.
She is survived are her niece, Marie Shipley and husband Ray; great nephew, Matt Strickler and wife Mary Beth; Folk family, sister-in-law's and brother-in-law's and families; a dedicated cousin, Jeannie Augustini.
Words cannot express our gratitude for friends and neighbors who have surrounded Charlotte with so many acts of kindness, and appreciation to the members of Frostburg Methodist Church for their support in so many ways
A celebration of life will be held at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg, MD on Wednesday June 22, 2022 from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. followed by a funeral service.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
Donations in her name can be made to Frostburg United Methodist Church.
