Robert was born in Opp, Alabama, son of F. J. and Cancie Hicks Bringhurst. He died has a result of a traffic accident at Medical Plaza Hospital, Sherman, Texas.

On April 25 1959 he married Miss Beth Trambly and they were blessed with three children.

He was a graduate of Opp Alabama High School and graduated in 1982 from Grayson County College with an Associate Degree in Real State.

An Air Force veteran he retired as a Master Sergeant after serving for 21 years. During his military career he served in Vietnam and received several commendations and awards, including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and Republic of Vietnam Brigadier Bronze Medal.

He moved to Sherman in 1975 and was a realtor with Travis Cook Real Estate.

He was also an avid pilot and a member of the Texoma Squares.

Left to mourn his passing and cherish the many memories, he was survived his wife; sons, Mark of Euless, Texas and Brad of Dallas, Texas; daughter Lori of Dallas; brothers, Harvey and Harold Bringhurst of Mobile, Alabama; and sisters, Mary Kyser and Lora Guy, both of Milton, Florida.

Rosary was recited by Deacon James Adlof, St Mary's Catholic Church at Waldo Funeral Home Chapel, Sherman.
Services were held at St Mary's Catholic Church with Deacon John LeBlanc officiating.

Military honors were afforded by the Carswell Air Force Base honor guard.
