Karen was born on April 20, 1948, in Tahoka, TX to the late Barron Cave and Samie Cunniff Cave. She married Randy Pilgrim on May 22, 1978, in San Angelo, TX.

Karen worked many years helping others with drug and alcohol abuse. She later spent several years riding horses and inspiring youth. Karen will also be remembered for her beauty and love of fashion.

Karen is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Randy Pilgrim; sons, Shane Sylvest and wife Tammy and Cody Sylvest; daughter, Kimi Hryniszak and husband Michael; grandchildren, Maddison Cauthen and husband Trenton, Tenille Sylves, Talon Sylvest and Elizabeth Hryniszak; great-grandchildren, Berklee and Oakland Cauthen, Reese Helle.
