Fred Elbert Bennett
Fred Elbert Bennett, 74, of Rt. 3 Box 880, died Saturday at his home following a brief illness.
Services will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday at the McDonald Funeral Home with Eagles Lodge representatives officiating. Interment is to be in Mt. Angeles Cemetery.
Born April 9, 1890, in Ashley, Wisc., Mr. Bennett worked for Rayonier Incorporated here for 17 years before retiring in 1959.
He came to Port Angeles in 1921 after service in the Canadian Army during World War I.
Mr. Bennett was a member of the Eagles Lodge for 26 years.
On the last day of 1956 he married Martha Waddell in Port Angeles. Mrs. Bennett survives at the family home.
Other survivors include a son, Richard Bennett of Arlington, two stepsons, Charles Wurtz of Reno, Nevada, and Frank Wurtz of Santa Susana, Calif: two stepdaughters Mrs. Roy Wright of Sutherlin, Ore., and Mrs. Alvin Dawkins of Weippe, Idaho; and 12 grandchildren.
