William Alexander Scott was a son of Elkanah Scott and Cynthia (or Cintha) Horsey Scott. He was one of at least eight children, all born in Kentucky. He married Delilah Elizabeth George on 16 Jan 1873 in Tyler, Smith County, Texas. Delilah was a daughter of Jeremiah Jack and Martha Jane (Jolly) George. He and Delilah had ten children: Joseph Riley Scott, John Daniel Scott, William Eads Scott, James Albert Scott, Mattie May Scott, Horace Peyton Scott, Noma Anderson Scott, Alex Bailey Scott, Effie Josephine Scott, and Arley Delaney Scott.Information for this burial was taken from W. W. A. Scott, 73 died at his home near Truax Wednesday morning from a stroke of paralysis. Funeral and interment at Stonewall Cemetery. Deceased was the father of W. E. Scott of Ada.
