After an illness of two weeks, Mrs. Sarah A. Herbert, widow of the late Chas. H. Herbert, and mother of Mrs. Francis C. W. Rorer, of this place, died last Friday morning at the home of her son-in-law, on Front street, where she made her home. Death was due to paralysis.

The deceased, who was 88 years of age, was born at Wyckoff's Mills, near Hightstown. She lived for twenty-seven years near Cranbury. For the past fourteen years she has resided with her daughter and son-in-law.

Besides her daughter the deceased is survived by one sister, Mrs. Spafford Stults, of Dayton; three grandchildren, Mrs. Walter Hoffman, of Jersey City; Mrs. James Smith, of Princeton; and Herbert Rorer, of this place. Also two great-grandchildren.

She was a most estimable old lady, with a sweet disposition, and was beloved by all who knew her. She was in possession of all her faculties until she was stricken with the disease that caused her death.

The funeral was held Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock from her late residence, Rev. W. H. Murphy, pastor of the M. E. church presiding. Services were in the First Presbyterian church of Cranbury at 3 o'clock. Rev. David Tompkins, pastor of the Second Presbyterian church of Princeton, officiating. Interment was in Cranbury cemetery under direction of A. S. Cole & Son, undertakers.
