Rudy K. York, 79 passed away Friday, April 29, 2022, at the Maine Veterans Home in Bangor. He was born in Mars Hill on July 5, 1942, to Kenneth and Leida (Garrison) York.

He graduated 3rd in his class at Castine High School. Rudy then served our country in Vietnam with the U.S. Army. After his return, Rudy worked and retired from the International Paper Mill in Bucksport. Rudy enjoyed his time coaching Bucksport Little League, dedicating more than 20 years and was an avid Red Sox fan. Some of his passions throughout his life were hiking, fishing, skiing and camping.

He is survived by his wife and best friend, Judy York of Orland; his son, Sean Dugan and wife, Michele, and his two precious grandchildren, Olivia and Derek all from San Rafael, CA; brothers-in-law, Buster Terrill of Mars Hill, Richard Howard and wife, Sharon, of Blue Hill, Gerald Cioe and wife, Joanne, of Jacksonville, FL, William Pooler of Granbury, TX, Forrest Pooler and wife, Pier, of Ft. Bragg, NC, Greg Pooler and wife, Debbie, of Georgia, and William Tymoczko and wife, Debbie, of Verona Island; sisters-in-law, Sonya Harriman of Bucksport and Helen Wardwell of Yarmouth, ME; as well as many special nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Rudy was predeceased by two sisters, Carole Terrell and Peggy Quimby.

Interment will be at a later date. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Maine Veterans Home in Bangor for all of their care and kindness shown to Rudy during his stay there.
