Patricia was born on September 4, 1962 to Doren Edwin and Caryl Ann (Carlson) Poland, in Abingdon. She married the love of her life Edward Charles McDonald on April 11, 1981, at the Abingdon Christian Church. Edward preceded Patricia in death on May 10, 2008.
Patricia is survived by her siblings Caryl "Chris" (Jim) Morrison, and David (Sheri Owen) Poland, and several nieces and nephews. Patricia is proceeded in death by her husband Ed, and her parents.
Patricia was born and raised in Abingdon, graduating in the class of 1979 from Abingdon High School. Even at a young age Patricia loved older people. She would have several stories about her older customers while working at some of the local shops in town, and seemingly almost knew every older person in town as well. Getting to know older folks grew Patricia's passion for helping the elderly. Not too long afterwards she got her dietary aid certificate from Central Illinois College and began working at the Abingdon Nursing home. Patricia had also worked at the Knox County Nursing home, and most recently the Abingdon DD Home. Patricia had a caring spirit, and an easy going, and quiet demeanor, and would much rather spend time gardening and with her pets.
Cremation will be accorded, and a celebration of Patricia's life will be held at a later date.
