NEWELL — Mary Lou Rayburn, 92, of Newell, passed away June 18, 2022. She was born April 28, 1930 in Erwin, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late George and Sarah (Tucker) Runion.

Mary was a former Concession Manager for Waterford Park and a former Tupperware Representative. She held membership with the Glendale Nazarene Church. Mary was a former member of the Newell American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Newell Area Civic Council, T.O.P.S. and the Red Hats.

Mary was an infamous Baker, She enjoyed working with crafts, ceramics, and flowers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Rayburn, three sons, Ronnie , Barry and Jerry Rayburn; four brothers, Lewis, Tucker, Charles and James Runion; four sisters, Pauline Moore, Millie Parsons, Virginia Lafferre and Joann Lockhart.

Surviving are her son, Chuck Rayburn of California; three daughters, Carol (John) Burda of Beaver; Karen Birkhimer of California and Denise Aragon of Newell and eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Visitation is Tuesday from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Nixon Funeral Home, Newell, WV, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22,2022, at the Nixon Funeral Home, Newell, WV. Interment will follow in Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens, Newell ,WV.
