Homer Franklin Adams, 84, of Dalton, passed away Friday, June 17, 2022, at St. Bernard's Five Rivers Medical Center.

Homer was born March 24, 1938, in Dalton to the late Mossie and Neola Cardwell Adams. He was married to Virginia Adams of Pocahontas, AR.

Homer was preceded in death by his parents, Mossie and Neola Adams; daughter, Rachel Marie Ellington; brother, Elmer Adams; and sisters-in-law Fern and Helen Adams.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Adams; son, James (Norma) Adams; grandson, Dalton Adams; God son, Mel Lavergne; sisters, Erma (Barry) Burr, Berna (Leon) Guntharp, and Dorothy (Mackie) McReynolds; brother, Clifford Adams; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Homer was a devoted husband, father, and mentor. He attended Ravenden Springs First Baptist Church and studied the Bible with other family members. He enjoyed hunting with his treasured .303 rifle and riding his four-wheeler.

All services will be held in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday, June 19, 2022 from 2-4 PM. Funeral services will be Monday, June 20, 2022, at 10 AM with Rickie Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow at White Cemetery on Oak Ridge Road.
