Paul Fredrick Berg, age 76, of Petersburg, WV, passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at the Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center in Petersburg. He was born on August 20, 1945 in Jordan Run, WV, the son of the late Demby Noah Berg and Noralenae Jane (Heavner) Berg.

Mr. Berg attended school in Maysville and Petersburg and was a former member of Jordan Run Union Church. He was self-employed as a mechanic, previously working for Roby Ford, Big A Auto Parts, Simmons Parts and Service, Roth Ford, and CarQuest all in Petersburg. Paul was a former member of the Sons of the American Legion, an avid fisherman, and enjoyed playing music, especially on his banjo. He also loved watching NASCAR and attending auto races.

Paul is survived by: a daughter, Jennifer Crites of Petersburg, WV; a son Gareth Berg of Petersburg, WV; 3 sisters, Judy Belle Barger of Petersburg, WV; Jaunita Berg of Petersburg, WV; Nancy Kimble (Lloyd "Sonny") of Grove City, OH; 1 brother, Stoney Berg (Bernita) of Jordan Run; 3 grandchildren, Trevon Crites, Rylan Crites, and Jesslyn Berg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: a sister, Peggy Earle; 2 brothers Teddy Berg and Danny Berg.

Mr. Berg's family will receive friends on Sunday, February 20, 2022, 12-2 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2PM with Pastor Lynn Rohrbaugh and Pastor Shan Earle officiating. Interment will be in the Berg Family Cemetery in Maysville, WV.
