Lady of the Court of Queen Elizabeth I and of James I. She was a daughter of George Mynne. Her husband, Sir George Calvert, 1st baron Baltimore, founded the colony of Newfoundland, and, later, the state of Maryland. Her son, Leonard, became the 1st Governor of that State.
