Mary Ann (Bransford) Romero, 83, passed away on June 25, 2021, after a long battle with cancer. She was born on May 23, 1938, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, the daughter of Paulita (Ortiz) and Alejandro "Alex" Bransford.

She was a graduate of the Loretto Academy in Santa Fe class of 1956, and later graduated from TVI in Albuquerque in 1988.

Mary Ann was a talented seamstress and published writer. She wrote a weekly article in the Santa Fe New Mexican titled "Los Bilingos" in the 1970's which turned into a book; and later she wrote a column for another publication called La Herencia magazine.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Anthony Romero Jr.; twin sons, Billy and Joey; her parents, Paulita (Ortiz) and Alejandro "Alex" Bransford; sister, Juanita Chavez; brothers: William "Billy" Bransford, Louie Bransford, Jim Bransford, and Ricky Bransford; and son-in-law, Gary Sparks.

She is survived by seven children: Carla Gibson, Monica Applegate, Carolyn Sparks, John Romero (wife Kristie), Joe Romero (wife Michelle), Carlos Romero, and Jennifer Romero; sisters: Bernadette Gonzales (husband Joe), Lucille Kleczka (husband Joe), Dolores Miller (husband Don), and Laine Renfro; brothers: Michael Bransford (wife Shawn), Philip Bransford (wife Doris), Arthur Bransford (wife Pearl), Ted Bransford (wife Jeanne), and Ben Bransford (wife Maxine); and sister-in-law, Mary Kay Bransford; 19 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
