P E Byars, 61, Laid to Rest

Funeral services for Phillip Evans Byars, 61, lifelong resident of Chickasaw County who died at the Houston Hospital at 6:30 Saturday evening were conducted from the Memorial Funeral Home Sunday at 2 pm, with the Rev. Bill Brock officiating. The deceased was a well known farmer.

Pallbearers were: Billy Clark, Rad Clark, Dickie Davis, Jerry Foster, Edd Sykes and Richard Vanlandingham.

Mr. Byars was born Sept. 21 1899. He was a member of the Concord Methodist Church.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Beatrice Byars of Houston; three daughters, Mrs. Rom Cook, Mrs. Marvin Moore and Bonnie Byars, all of Houston; three sons, Wayne, Herman and Ray, all of Houston. Nine grandchildren also survive.
