A HENRY COUNTY PIONEER DIED
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at three o'clock for Mrs. Emily Quarles, who died Friday afternoon at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Tom L. Frame. Dr. C. C. Width, of the First Presbyterian church, officiated. Deceased was born in Monroe county, Missouri, October 29, 1833, and was 90 years of age Monday. Her parents moved to Missouri and were among the pioneers in the building of that state. Since the death of her husband, 20 years ago, Mrs. Quarles had made her home with her daughters, Mrs. J. L. Riggins and Mrs. L. J. Myers, both of Ardmore. Deceased is survived by her three daughters, Mrs. Riggins, Mrs. Myers, Mrs. J. E. Quarles, of Dallas; six grandchildren, Mrs. Tom L. Frame, Mrs. Emily Fowlkes, Miss Elizabeth Myers, of Tulsa; Julian Myers of Tulsa; Miss Nelle Thompson, of Clinton, Mo., and James Quarles, of Dallas; and three great-grandchildren, Ruth Tom Frame, Julian Myers, Jr., and Betty Myers, of Tulsa. Funeral services for Mrs. Emily Quarles, age 90 years, was conducted from the residence of her granddaughter, Mrs. Tom Frame, 214 Stanley boulevard, Saturday afternoon at three o'clock, by Kev. Dr. C. C. Weith, of the First Presbyterian church with interment at Rose Hill cemetery. A large following of relatives and friends attended the services at the home and followed the cortege to the cemetery. Floral tributes were numerous and beautiful attesting the high esteem in which she was held by all her friends and acquaintances. Taken from Ardmore, Oklahoma Paper.
