Jessiebelle Elliott Herbertson, 98, of Loveland died Feb. 8, 2004, in the Hospice Care Center at McKee Medical Center in Loveland.

She was born April 6, 1905, at Talihina, Okla. (Indian Territory), the fifth of 10 children born to William T. and Eliza (Blake) Elliott. The family later moved to Osage County, where she graduated from Hominy High School. She was active on the basketball and debate teams. She attended Northeastern State Teachers College in Tahlequah, Okla., for one year.

She lived in Oklahoma for many years; then, during World War II, moved to California, where she worked on Mare Island for the U.S. Navy. Following the war, she homesteaded in Alaska with her husband, D.C. Walker, who died in later years.

After moving to Loveland in 1973, she met William "Bill" Herbertson, and they married Nov. 30, 1975. He preceded her in death on Dec. 31, 1979.

Her life was filled with adventure, generosity, good humor and a love of family and friends. She was a supporter of the arts and many musical events in Northern Colorado, and a longtime member of Trinity United Meth-odist Church.

Jessiebelle is survived by two sisters, Carol Dean Adams and husband Pat of Loveland and Lucyle Canepa of New Cuyama, Calif.; a niece, Angel Street and husband Floyd of Loveland; a stepson, Jack Herbertson of Fort Collins; a stepdaughter-in-law, Reta Ralph and husband Charles of Fort Collins; three step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at Trinity United Methodist Church.
