Elizabeth Lucille (Hollabaugh) Pyle, 86, 1733 W. Goguac St., Battle Creek, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 1992 at the home of her son, after a short illness.
Mrs. Pyle was born Sept. 2, 1905, in Putnam County, Monroe Township, Ohio, daughter of Guy and Mary (Gettys) Hollabaugh.
She lived in the area since 1942, moving here from Albion. She graduated from Albion High School and previously lived in Lansing.
She was a sales clerk for L.W. Robinson Co., Battle Creek, and was a courier for Regional Medical Laboratories, Battle Creek.
She was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Battle Creek.
She married Merle Pyle on Aug. 18, 1923, in Homer. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1973 and were married 52 years before Mr. Pyle died Dec. 25, 1975.
Surviving are a daughters, Mary Pyle of Arizona, Delores Rutherford, Nancy Gwynne, all of Battle Creek; a son and daughter of Battle Creek, and one daughter of Marshall; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; brothers, Sam Neufer and Hardy Neufer, both of Albion; and a sister, Hazel Roby of Albion.
She also was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters and a grandson, Eric Rutherford.
Visitation: After 3 p.m. today at Richard A. Henry Funeral Home.
Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, the Rev. Thomas Heil officiating.
Burial: Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Memorials: Good Samaritan Hospice Care, 80 N. 20th St., or P.O. Box 1695, Battle Creek; or St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church.
