She was a caring wife, mother and accomplished homemaker. Her childhood was spent exploring Lake Victor with her beloved brothers and sisters. As a young woman, she worked in Lampasas as a photographic assistant for Wooten's Photography Studio. She then moved to Austin to work as an office clerk for the Texas Railroad Commission. She loved music and performed often with her brother's band. In 1959, she married her life mate and best friend, Larry Hodge. They made their home in Burnet/Lake Victor area and she spent her days caring for her husband, nurturing her son and giving of her time and talents to her community. Her sparkling eyes, charm and mischievous grin could melt the coldest heart. Her love of her family and friends is a true testament to how we should live. She was an active member of the Lake Victor Baptist Church. She was a charter member of the Lake Victor Home Demonstration Club.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Gerald Kenan and William Kenan; and one sister, Doris Huffman.
∼Funeral services for Nalda Kenan Hodge, 84, of Burnet were Jan. 17, 2008, at Edgar Funeral Home in Burnet. Burial was at Burnet's Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Hodge died Jan. 14 at Oaks Nursing Home.
She was the daughter of Everett and Alice Risinger Kenan, and spent her childhood exploring Lake Victor.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald Kenan and William Kenan, and by a sister, Doris Huffman.
The family requested memorials be made to Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Burnet, in care of Dortha Collins, 1615 FM 2340, Lampasas, TX 76550.
